Artist's Comments

Daddy.

Inspired roughly by Porcupine Tree's album "In Absentia", I find it fits very well with the concept of the album.

Yeah, it's me in the picture. As close as I'll ever get to a self portrait! I wanted to do a kind of 'ghostly-figure-at-the-end-of-your-bed' kinda thing, and that's how it turned out...

I do like the idea behind this photo, but the execution, IMO leaves something to be desired. The whole photo seems blurry, not just the figure. I would comment more on what i think should change, but with no exif data in the photo i don't know what you did when taking this photo so i can't say anything further.

The original photo was sharp, with the only blurring being on the figure. However, it looked, to me, worse with everything else sharp, so I liberally applied blur until I was happy with it.
The blurring was pretty much as I had pictured it in my mind, I found that it gave it a rather surreal glow which I quite liked.
It's not perfect, but personally I like the fuzzyness - it gives it the feel of being a 'memory' or somesuch.
Just my 2p in response to your critique. Any further critique is welcomed...thanks for your input.
